At the heart of the Swaminarayan Akshardham complex lies the majestic Akshardham Temple. Towering 43 meters high, spanning 96 meters wide, and extending 109 meters long, it is adorned with intricate carvings of flora, fauna, deities, dancers, and musicians. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, the temple was meticulously designed by BAPS Swamis and Virendra Trivedi of the Sompura family. Crafted entirely from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian Carrara marble, it adheres to traditional Hindu architectural principles, utilizing no ferrous metal for longevity. The architecture reflects the Māru-Gurjara style and boasts 234 ornately carved pillars, nine domes, and 20,000 murtis. Notably, the temple's central dome houses a 3.4-meter-high murti of Swaminarayan, surrounded by images of the faith's Gurus.
