The Vaishno Devi Temple, also referred to as the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple and Vaishno Devi Bhavan, stands as a prominent Hindu mandir situated in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. Dedicated to Vaishno Devi, a revered manifestation of Durga, this sacred site rests on the Trikuta mountain at an elevation of 5,000 feet. Embraced by the Shakti tradition as a Shakti Pitha, the temple's governance falls under the auspices of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), overseen by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir since August 1986.

Vaishno Devi Temple is situated in Katra, nestled within the Trikuta Mountains, in the Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
You start the trek from Katra, the base camp, and it's about 13 kilometers long. It usually takes around 4 to 6 hours to complete the trek, depending on how fast you walk. Alternatively, you can book a helicopter ride. Once you reach Vaishno Devi, you can enter the holy shrine.
Vaishno Devi Temple and Vaishno Devi, Jammu, do not have set opening and closing hours. However, the aarti ceremonies are held daily from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
